Hey, y'all! Sam here with another Ember Update. Don't know who Ember is? Meet Ember.
This week has been fairly uneventful. Mostly because the rain and mud have prevented me from working with Ember. It should be dry enough tomorrow or Sunday... as long as it doesn't rain again. Fall vibes, am I right?
Anyway, the hosts of the training challenge announced that the challenge will be held in-person! For months, we were just going to do it online, but somebody decided that online wasn't a great idea. Yay! This does put a lot more pressure on me and Ember, as we must show in front of a bunch of people instead of just a camera, but we should do all right... I doubt we'll win anything, though.
After a whole eight weeks of working with this beautiful rescue pony (eight weeks! Can you believe it?), we'll finally start training for our freestyle. I'm confident she'll be able to do everything in the show's obstacle course, so now it's time to focus on the hard part - the part where we must get creative and put our tricks to music. The freestyle is where the liberty training will come in handy. Unfortunately, we don't have enough time to master lunging at liberty, so we'll keep to the more basic stuff.
Tricks are what will be important in the freestyle show. I've started teaching Ember how to lie down at liberty, and I'd like to teach her how to rear, too. Do y'all have any ideas for tricks we can do in the show? I'd absolutely love to hear your ideas! There's a contact box on the homepage of my website and a comment section down below. You can also email me: email@example.com. Seriously, y'all, I want to hear your ideas.
As I said, this week was pretty uneventful, so I don't have much more to report. I guess that wraps up the blog post, then. Comment below any ideas you have for the freestyle! Sam out!
